Ask us to stop, and we stop.
Permanently, across every product and every client. You do not have to explain why, and nobody will contact you to talk you out of it.
How to be removed
Email hello@bluebeamsignals.com with the name and address as it appeared on the mail you received. That is all we need.
What happens then
- The address goes into a suppression file the day the request arrives.
- Every future list is filtered against it before delivery, for every client.
- Every future mailing we produce is filtered against it before printing.
- It does not expire, and it survives new data. If the property appears in a fresh county record next year, the suppression still applies.
- We keep the entry permanently and deliberately — deleting it would mean you start receiving mail again.
Two things we cannot do
We cannot stop other companies. The records we read are public, and many businesses read them. Removing you from our file has no effect on anyone else’s mail. If you want to reduce marketing mail generally, the DMAchoice service run by the Association of National Advertisers covers a broad range of national mailers.
We cannot change the county record. If something in a public record is wrong, that has to be corrected at the source — the county, or the Maryland Department of Assessments and Taxation. Email us anyway and we will point you to the right office.
Why you received something
A public county or state record showed something recorded against a property connected to you — a filing, a transfer, a permit, a licence. A local business bought a list that included that property, or asked us to write on their behalf. That is the whole of it. There is no consumer file behind it, nothing purchased from a data broker, and nothing taken from social media.
If the letter came from a business rather than from us directly, they bought the record. Telling us to stop removes the address from every future list we produce, so it will not reach that business again either. You are welcome to tell them as well, but you do not need to.
More about the sources and what they do and do not contain is on the data sources page, and how we handle personal information is set out in the privacy policy.
